Well Abby turned one today. I cannot believe that our little girl is one year old. It seemed like yesterday that we went to the hospital and she was born only 6lb 7oz. Although she hasn't grown much in weight (17lb) she sure has grown up. We are so proud of our her, she truly is a joy in our lives.
Abby was so cute today, we kept telling Abby that it was her birthday, and wishing her a happy birthday and she kept looking at us like we were crazy. Then when it was time to open up gifts she had no idea what to do. She kept wanting to leave and play with the balloons. However when she saw her gifts, she would get so happy and play with them.
Then we had some friends come over, to share some cake and ice cream and Abby loved it! Since this was the first time having cake, she was hesitant at first but then attacked it. I think this was the first time she actually had a ton of sugar, so for most of the night she was hyper. Luckily our friends were there to humor her and help her unwind for bed. When we finally did put her down at 8:30 pm, she played in her crib for 30 minutes. She is nuts. I hope that means she enjoyed herself.

She looked so cute! I hope she had a really fun birthday. I love the look on her face when y'all were singing to her. Like, "what the heck is going on?" Love it.

She was probably wondering all day, what in the world did she do different that day to have received such attention! That is why she stayed up so long after putting her down for the night--she was trying to figure it out so she could have another one of those days soon!
