Big Announcement!

Jon and I have some exciting news. Baby Monson is on its way. We are super excited.
We have been pregnant for three months now, and have been dying to tell everyone, but we just wanted to make sure everything was o.k. We thought the due date was going to be May 26, 2010, but when we went to the doctor, he pushed the due date to June 2.

When my brother Scott and his wife Ashley found out,
they made us some really cute cupcakes.

As you can see the cupcakes are babies with
bibs and pacifiers. Ashley is so creative.

At my first doctors appointement, at my 8 weeks,
I had a ultrasound. I could not really see anything.
to me it was just a blob with a really fast heartbeat.
even though I could not tell it was a baby, it was such a neat
experience.

Idaho State Fair

On Saturday, Jon and I went to the State Fair. We went with our friends, Brian and Kristin Lusk. It was a lot of fun, our original plan was to go to the demolition derby at the fair, but when we were buying tickets, we were too late because the derby was sold out. It was OK though, because there was still so much to see. Jon and I had never been on a Ferris wheel, so we took a ride on the Ferris wheel. Too be honest, it was not as great as we thought it would be. Oh well.

The fair also had lots of venues with local businesses and restaurants. As well as a place for the locals to show off thier farm animals.

Scott's Wedding

After Colorado, we headed to South Jordan for my brother Scott's wedding. He was married on September 5th in the Salt Lake Temple, to Ashley James. They are such a cute couple, and we are happy to have Ashley in the family. Everything turned out beautifully.

Road Trippin...Fully Loaded With Snacks and Supplies

During the seven week break between semesters, Jon and I got a job working at a call center in Rexburg. Not the most glamerous job, but it paid the bills. At first when we got the jobs, we had these glorious ideas of working 8 hours a day but in reality the job was so boring. Everyday we would call strangers up and try to get them to complete a survey. I was never very good at it but, Who knew Jon would be such a pro.
Well anyways by the time we had worked a few weeks we were tired of the job and we felt we needed a break. Lucky for us, Jon's dad was heading to Colorado Springs for a buisness trip. When I heard this, I knew we needed to go on a road trip. It would be so fun to visit with Jon's dad, and it just so happens to be where I served for my 4 months away from Temple Square.
This was our first road trip together, and it was so fun.

The view through Idaho.

On Saturday, we took a drive to the top of Pike's Peak.
14,115 ft is a long way up.

We were all terrified of the ride up the mountain.

Jon's mom once had a dream where Jon's dad was in an
accident with a red car! Looks like her dream was fulfilled.

Our First Anniversary

Jonathan and I celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday. I cannot believe we have been married a year. It is just so surreal. I went to go visiting teaching yesterday and when I got back Jon had finished up dinner and set the table for two in a romantic university courtyard way. It was really nice. We had a roast with salad and fruit, which was super delicious. Then for desert we had the top layer of our wedding cake. I was a little worried that it was going to be nasty but it actually tasted really good. We couldn't even tell that it has been in our freezer. Jon still loves the fondant, for me it is just to sugary. Well after dinner we played mancala, and speed scrable, Jon won in mancala, but I killed him in speed scrable. After the games we just did what married people do.

Our cake still looks amazing!
