Our Little Crawler!

For several weeks now, Abigail has been on the verge of crawling. She would get on her hands and knees, and move back and forth like she wanted to crawl, but could not figure out how to move her hands. I knew it was only a matter of time and JUST last night she crawled for the first time. It was more of an army crawl, but hey it still counts.

Then this morning, she has already made vast improvements in her crawling skills. The funny thing is, even though the whole apartment is now hers to explore, she stays within the bounds of the living room, which I am extremely grateful for, because soon this will all change and she will be everywhere and in everything. It will only be a matter of time before she realizes she can crawl anywhere she wants.

What the What!!!!

The other day, this is how we found Abigail when we went to check on her. I had put her on her play mat and went into our room to vacuum, and Jon was in the shower getting ready for a baptism. Looks like we need can't leave Abby alone anymore.

By the way those papers were important financial information. Looks like Jon needs to call to get other copies.

Eat Your Heart Out

For the last several days, Abby has been very interested in our food. When we would eat our meals, she always watches us intently hoping to get some of her own. We took that as a sign that she was ready to try some of her own food, so we introduced rice cereal to her. She has done very well with it.

So this first video is of Abigail enjoying her meal...

but this is what happens if you bother her during her meal. As you can see she does not mess around when it comes to food.

Homecoming and Halloween

It was Homecoming weekend at Oklahoma State last week. Now for those of you who are not familiar with the happenings of OSU, homecoming is a big deal. It is a week long celebration, culminating with the OSU football game. On Friday night they have what is called the Walk Around. The Walk Around is a parade in a sense, but instead of the floats passing by, the floats are stationary and the visitors walk around looking at them. Each sorority and fraternity are responsible for creating one of these decorations.

Jon and I did not know what to expect, but they were really cool. They looked like carpets but they were made with tissue paper, and many of them had moving parts.

We had a lot of fun, but as you can see from the pictures, there was quite the crowd. In years past, more than 70,000 turned out.

Jon and I had not really planned on doing anything for Halloween this year, but when we found out that our ward was having a Trunk o' treat party, we decided we should dress up. But what to dress up as? We thought perhaps that we could re-use our awesome Adam and Eve costumes, and turn Abby into a little Apple or snake to accompany us, but we were not sure how our new ward might react to this. As we consided other options we came up with the idea to be James and Lilly Potter and of course baby Harry. It was a last minute costume, but I think it worked out just fine. Jon made the perfect James.

Our Little Abigail Just Keeps Growing!

Abigail is now a little older than three months, and she is such a doll. She is now at the point where she is talking and cooing all the time, especially in the mornings when she wakes up. I love her little sounds, and I could listen to them all day. She has so much to say.

Not only does she talk all the time now, but she also smile constantly and interacts with us. She is such a joy.

I thought I would share a little sample of her conversations with us. We were also fortunate to catch one of her first rollovers. We were so proud of her and thrilled we were able to capture it on video.

Abby

So we have had a lot of request for more pictures of Abby, and less pictures of us. So here we are. I hope you all like it.
