Our First Anniversary

Jonathan and I celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday. I cannot believe we have been married a year. It is just so surreal. I went to go visiting teaching yesterday and when I got back Jon had finished up dinner and set the table for two in a romantic university courtyard way. It was really nice. We had a roast with salad and fruit, which was super delicious. Then for desert we had the top layer of our wedding cake. I was a little worried that it was going to be nasty but it actually tasted really good. We couldn't even tell that it has been in our freezer. Jon still loves the fondant, for me it is just to sugary. Well after dinner we played mancala, and speed scrable, Jon won in mancala, but I killed him in speed scrable. After the games we just did what married people do.

Our cake still looks amazing!

Rebecca's Video for our Anniversary

When I came home from church Rebecca had the computer open with a note that said play. She made a great movie of our moments together this past year. Wow I cannot believe Rebecca and I have been married a year. That is just crazy I feel like we have always known each other. They say that the first year is the hardest. Well if that is true then Rebecca and I's marriage will be a piece of cake.

Four Wheeling

So Jon and I went four wheeling with my cousins. It was a blast, even though I was scared to death! I only would ride with Jon and although he didn't go fast I was flipping out. It was also scary because there was a thunderstorm just beyond the horizon, so we could hear the thunder and occasionally see the bolts of lightning.

Day at the Lake

This past Saturday, we enjoyed the day by going to Eadgen Lake, well the locals call it a lake, but I say it was more like a pond. To be considered a lake it needs to be at least deep enough for a boat. Eadgen Lake was not more than 3 feet. Despite the shallowness of the water it was still very refreshing. My brother Scott has just gotten into town so we invited him to come along. We packed sandwiches, chips, drinks, and treats, as well as games. It was nice to finally spend a day in the sun, since this summer we have had an unusual amount of rain and cool temperatures. I guess we just have to take what we can get. My plan is to do this every Saturday.
