There is Much to be Thankful For.

Over the Thanksgiving break Jonathan and I, as well as three of my other siblings (Scott, Amanda and Juliann) were able to visit my sister and her family in California. This was my first trip to California and I can see why everyone loves it so much. It was really beautiful. The weather was perfect. I had to keep reminding myself that it was November because we were enjoying 70 degree temperatures. My sister Marnie lives in a city which is north of Los Angeles and about 15 minutes from the ocean. They have a lovely home but I felt a little bad because we invaded their living room with all of our bags and an air mattress.

It was fun to see Marnie and Stephan and their two adorable little girls, Penelope and Ginger. I could not believe how much little Penny has grown since we last saw her. She is such a little talker. She loved to play with her aunts and uncles. She took to Jon or Jon-oh as she called him immediately. Sometimes he was the only one that she would let hold her. It was really cute.

It was nice to meet Ginger who is now three months old. I think she is the best child I have ever seen. She never cried and she was perfectly content just to be held. Jon was able to participate in blessing her the sunday we were there.

While we were in California there was lots of fun to be had. We played games in the evenings, built sand castles at the beach, went shopping at the outlet malls, enjoyed delicious pies, and celebrated Marnie and Scott's birthdays.

After four days in California, we traveled the long ten hours back to Utah to spend Thanksgiving day with Dad and Judy. It was nice to be with family for the holiday.

All Hallows "Eve"

This was our first Halloween together and Jon and I wanted to go as a couple of some kind. We had several costumes in mind but had not really give it much time and effort that is until it was two days before Halloween. We had a party to go to that night so we decided that we should find a costume so we went to several stores in town and finally ended up at Wal-Mart where we found a glorious Adam and Eve set. As soon as we saw the costumes, we knew we had found the perfect couple costume.

As you can see we try to stay modest with the leaves covering all the appropriate places.

Here is Jon in all his glory!

I am trying to tempt Jon with a delicious fruit, but Jon is hesitant to partake.

The "Biggest Loser"

Okay so we started watching the biggest loser. And let me just tell you that we are fans of it. It is so good to see these people lose weight and changed their lives. However we are starting to yell at the TV hoping that our feelings of hatred will somehow go through the cables and slap the “biggest losers” in the face. This last episode just left Rebecca and I so upset at one conniving little wench that it is still taking some time for both of us to cool down. If any of you have been watching you’ll know what we mean. The "biggest loser's" name is Heba, yes that is right Heba, kind of like heifer which probably would've been a better name for her, since it matches her appearance and IQ. She is very cunning and manipulative and that it drives us insane!!! Just like Korihor she deserves to be trodden underneath by horses. Or at least become dumb so that she cannot speak and drive everyone in America up the wall. One word of advice to her, it is better the keep your mouth shut and have everyone think you're stupid then to open it and remove all doubt. I am counting down to the day that she is off the show nothing could make my Tuesday better then to know that "The Heifer" is off. I think Rebecca and I will have a party that day! All are invited!

Don’t be fooled by this smile, she is actually a mean heartless women.

Jack-O’-Lanterns

So for family home evening we decided to carve pumpkins and get ready for another scary Halloween! For some reason these pumpkins were very hard to clean out. However after a long time with a spoon and a steak knife Rebecca and I were able to do it.

Two big pumpkins

Rebecca making here first incision

Scalped it like a true red skin.

After an hour we finally finished.

Scary pumpkins

There here! We tried to summon the poltergeist.
I don’t think it worked however Rebecca says she
is tired of pushing in the chairs.

Haircut

Rebecca surprised me this Tuesday when I came home from school and noticed that 6 inches of her hair was missing. Luckily I noticed otherwise I would have slept on the hide abed that night. Because we all know how women get if men don’t noticing the details. She kept saying that it was way to short; however I love it!

FIRST SNOWFALL !

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Oh wait it is only October and it is already snowing in Rexburg.

The snow falling in this picture looks gigantic, but it was not as bad as it seems. The snow did not last long, only a couple of days, but while it was here it reminded us all that winter in Rexburg starts early and never seems to end.

Carnival Sensation:

So over the summer break Rebecca and I enjoyed our Honeymoon on the Carnival Sensation Cruise ship. It was a lot of fun! We went down to the Bahamas where, as Michael Scott would say, “some like it Hot Hot Hot”. And let me tell you that is no joke. It was very hot but luckily we were at the beach or in the ocean for the most part of it. The first day we arrived at the Bahamas we took it easy just relaxing on the beach soaking up the Sunrays just waiting to get skin cancer in the future. It was really peaceful just being on a private beach only hearing the wave’s crash up onto the shore. Unfortunately we didn’t really put on much sun block so after the first day we were red and sore. I escaped with minor sunburns since I did put on SPF 15 however Rebecca forgot to put anything on and became red as a lobster! Needless to say; that night we bought aloe gel for the burns and SPF 50 for the next couple of days.

The second day was also fun as we got up and rushed to go snorkeling. It was so much fun, there were a lot of fishes swimming all around us and the visibility was at least 25-50 feet which was unbelievable. Rebecca, after realizing that the fish weren’t harmful, overcame her fears and also enjoyed snorkeling. Unfortunately we had to cut our snorkeling time short because we both got stung by a jelly fish. The next day we spent on the boat just relaxing and enjoying the good life on the open seas with all the free food you can eat. The cruise was wonderful! It is only too bad that we had to get back to reality and head back to Rexburg and its harsh winters.

The Carnival Sensation aka the Affrican Queen Ship.

Us on the deck looking out at the sunset. It was beautiful to come out and just walk the decks. It is amazing to look out and see not but water all sides.

This is after we got stung by the jelly fish.

Rebecca and I at the famous Plaza in Nassau. Trying to get a cannon ball wound.

Playing the drum for all the tourist. Some like it Hot Hot Hot.

Dressing up for the nice dinner. I think that was the best part of the trip.

Rebecca and I buried ourselves in the sand.

Just a beautiful shot at the beaches. The water was at a perfect temperature.

Our First Home

So we finally made it to Rexburg and got 98% moved in. We still need to get a few more things and by the looks of it have no more space. We do not know how we are going to make this all fit. But hey that's what happends when you have too much stuff.

Our Sink

Our Bedroom looking out.

Our Closet. Look how the shelves are
behind the clothes. That is anoying at times.

Looking at our kitchen.

Where we eat small but nice.

I usually never get to see this room because I am
to busy studying, but when I do go into it, it is nice.
