Titanic Museum

So Jon and I went to the Titanic Museum for Family Home Evening last Monday. It was fun to see the history that took place and all the cool artifacts. The people around us must have been annoyed because Jon and I kept sing the melody of the movie Titanic, and also kept giving “facts” about the Titanic that happened in the movie. We also kept looking for the heart of the ocean diamond, but it looks like they haven’t discovered it yet. (Stupid old hag threw it back into the water) But it was neat how they set it up. At the door we got a “ticket” that I guessed modeled an actual ticket of the Titanic (with a few modifications of course). It gave us a name of real people and descriptions of their life. We were supposed to go around and look at our living conditions, what our meals were like, etc. Then at the end we could see if our person died or survived. To our surprised we both survived. Jon kept saying his guy was yellow and must have jumped into the first life boat he could have found.

Sorry that we do not have any photos of ourselves; the museum wouldn’t let us take any, and even though Jon wanted to sneak some here and there I wouldn’t let him. So we have our little mementos to blog.

My boarding pass. I loved how I was from England!

Jon's bording pass. He didn't like who he was.

Jon and I both drew a picture of the Titanic. We were actually pretty impressed with our art work.

Hair Cut

Kennecott Copper Mine

So Jon and I went down to Utah, to spend some time with my family for Memorial Weekend. We had so much fun. My whole family was there except for Kristin, who we all wished could’ve made it. But it was fun to spend time with our nieces, and just bask in the family spirit. It was great because on Memorial day we went to my aunt Sharron’s house and ate a wonderful CafĂ© Rio style meal, and then played about 10 intense games of volleyball. By the end of the day we were all burnt and exhausted. We managed to come back home were Judy made a great dinner, and of course we went outside in the backyard to play more volleyball. We Keller’s love our volleyball! Midst the trip to Utah, Jon and I, along with everyone else minus Scott and Ashley, due to “sickness” (just joking Ashley was really sick) went to the Kennecott Copper Mines. It is amazing how "beautiful" a mine can be, considering they are raping the earth. But like the saying says, “Earth First!!! We’ll strip mine the other planets later.” Just joking, in actuality is was quite beautiful and fun. We did have some trouble with the porta potties, since Penny isn’t quite ready to use the restroom when it looks and smells like crap, pun definitely intended!!! After the Kennecott mines we went to a park and had a picnic. It was a beautiful day and so much fun, however I guess it was also a prime spot for a field trip so we had TONS of kids running around. In fact a funny story with those kids is; (Jon is making me put this story in here) I was making fun of some kids because they were having a hard time running up this steep incline without grabbing onto the railing. Jon said that it would be in fact hard, but I didn’t believe him. So he bet me I couldn’t do it without holding onto the railing or supporting myself in some way. So I took him up on his little bet and needless to say I couldn’t make it up. Apparently he took a video of me trying so you can all see.

The great mines!
