So we decided to go to the infamous (which we all know is more then famous) Ice Caves here in the good Ol’ State of Idaho. This was Rebecca’s first time going, and she was a bit scared to go. It was funny because for the whole week that we planed this little shin dig, she wasn’t hesitant to let me know that this trip wasn’t on her “favorites list.” But we went anyway with a bunch of our good friends and had a blast. Rebecca even liked it, although she hates to admit it, and the only thing she was afraid of was the trip out there. (She claims my driving was too fast).

Although it was 73 degrees we had to dress like we were in the Arctic
The big hole we need to go down to get to the caves

One of the hardest parts because it was so slippery

The beginning of the cave. This part was tricky because the first half is water, so we had to stand on the rocks, not to get our feet wet.

Entering the cave
Since we were sliding around mostly on our butts.

Ice even on top of the cave

Climbing down a huge block of ice

Sliding down

This part is my favorite part, you put your back on the ice then walk up the wall and push your self on a higher platform.

We really did walk on Ice the whole time.

One of the main rooms

These parts are pretty cool too, because you lie on your back and push off with your legs to slide to the next part. According to Mike this reminds him of going down the birth canal.

At the end of the caves there is a big room were there is a "slide"

The end of the tunnel.

Because of the wind the fire was really hot. Rebecca wanted to cook her hot dog from 8 feet away.

It looks like you guys had tons of fun! Where is that place at-it looks really cool! I like the picture of Rebecca cooking her hot dog! lol!
Does dad know you did this? He'd be so impressed. I'd never in a million years do that. Part of me can't believe you actually did.
Thanks for posting the pictures. This is just the sort of thing that's best shared through pictures.
You put more pictures of "The Caves" up! You can really get a feeling for your experience in those caves with all the pictures you have now on the site!
Rebecca is such a good sport to have enough faith in you, Jonathan, to go to the ends of the earth with you! ;)
Love you two!
